for those of you in the River North area, are you dining out? if so, where?

When I was a kid, my family used to drive to the wealthier neighborhoods to gawk at holiday decorations. I'd like to do that this year with my husband, but it's my first year here, so I don't know where to go. What northwest suburbs (I'm in Logan Square and don't want to drive too far) would be good places for this?

The Clever Crafter's Fair will be happening this Saturday December 5th from 12pm-7pm!

It will be held Lenny and Me at 1459 N. Milwaukee location featuring local artists selling everything from knits to jewelry to fine art. There will be live music, treats, refreshments and a varied group of artists!

Does Navy Pier still have fireworks at night? Or is it over for the year?

I know that the "official" location for the air and water show this weekend is at North Ave. Beach, but I live in Ravenswood/Albany Park, and I really don't feel like getting up at 8 AM in order to go down to that beach in order to get a decent seat and see some planes. I've got some friends coming to town the weekend of the big St. Patrick's Day parade. They'd like to go downtown and see them dye the river green and then watch the parade.
